Roles Responsibilities

TJF is currently developing the Food Security and Sustainability Centre (FOSTER) in Kuala Enok, Indragiri Hilir Regency. In technical terms, FOSTER is a research center with a dedicated 20-hectare plot of marine-clay ecosystem designated for agricultural research. FOSTER is in the early phase of development. The goal is to ensure local food security while creating a model for broader regional and national food resilience. FOSTER aims to establish a research center that serves as a beacon of hope for the local community, supporting the cultivation of integrated farming of food crops, livestock, and aquaculture through experiments, training, and the development of innovative practices, ultimately enhancing the quality of life.

The main role of the Program Coordinator is to coordinate and manage the development of the FOSTER research center by planning, executing, and overseeing the development, as well as managing resources to achieve the goals. This role can be translated into the following responsibilities:

  1. Assist the manager in developing strategic plans for the Program Division, focusing on FOSTER development.
  2. Manage day-to-day operations of FOSTER projects in collaboration with Field Officers.
  3. Coordinate field data collection with Program Officers to ensure accurate and timely information.
  4. Facilitate feedback loops by gathering input from division members to enhance project quality and relevance with Program Officers.
  5. Compile comprehensive reports from field activities with assistance from Program Officers.
  6. Manage divisional administration, particularly for program collaborations with external parties.

Qualification

Requirements:

  1. Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Soil Science, or other related fields.
  2. At least 3 years of experience in project management, with a focus on general agriculture, coastal agriculture, and rice cultivation.
  3. Experience in stakeholder management.
  4. Fluent knowledge of sustainable agricultural practices, rice farming, and coastal management.
  5. Familiarity with agricultural data collection, analysis, and reporting to inform project insights and recommendations.
  6. Fluency in written and verbal English is preferred.

  2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address project challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.
  3. Effective verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with local communities and stakeholders.
  4. Ability to adapt to changing project needs and maintain productivity in challenging field conditions.

  1. This position is permanently based in Kuala Enok District, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau. Accommodation is provided.
